The International Festival has become a HUGE HIT over the past three years. Many LJES students and families look forward to this cultural bonanza and fun PTO event! And we hope to continue this important tradition at LJES. This is an exciting opportunity to help the school and our children and provide cultural awareness and learning along the way.

There are many countries represented at the festival - last year we had 27!. It's a great opportunity to celebrate different traditions, culture, and heritage of students, helping them to develop mutual respect and understanding.

Country Booth Representatives put together a country-themed booth to encourage the children to learn about your country’s culture at the festival.For example, perhaps you'd want to come in traditional dress and show off a traditional dance or ceremony, play a game that is well known for your country, pass out a traditional food-related item, do an art or craft station for the children when they come to your booth--you are only limited by your own imagination.

Each booth is assigned to a classroom as well. That way, the room parent will be responsible for the parent volunteer staffing of the booth on that day if you would like and in charge of signing up some volunteers to the game that is assigned to your class/country. Although feel free to recruit others to help as you see fit. A lot of families bring grandmas and grandpas along to show off their extended connection to the culture and country.
